Bob Barner, takes an inspiring passage from Ecclesiastes, in the Old Testament, and creates this beautifully illustrated book. His use of bright collage takes the reader on a magical journey through life’s changes.

Activities for this book

1. Create a collage of your own
   • Think of how you are feeling.
   • Choose construction paper that matches those feelings
   • Create an image that expresses those feelings. It can be abstract, it can be an image that represents how you feel, or it can be a more realistic scene of a memory that made you happy or sad. Don’t be afraid to let go and really show how you feel. You don’t have to share the reason behind the collage.

2. Creating quilt pattern blocks (refer to A time to tear apart, a time to sew together page)
   • Cut out shapes from different color construction paper
     • For shape templates click here.
   • Use shapes to create patterns similar to a quilt block.
   • You could also do this with fabric and sew it together
