In this class, students will learn how to create a colorful mandala that resembles a kaleidoscope.

Class Layout:
We will talk about circles and how when overlapped they create new shapes.
We will then talk about symmetry and how to divide a piece of paper symmetrically horizontally, vertically, and diagonally.
We will use a rule to created guide lines for our circles.
We will use the circle template to make the mandala.
We will color the mandala to look like a kaleidoscope.

*Students should know how to use a ruler to measure.

Learning Goals:
Students will be introduced to finding shapes and patterns in art.
Students will learn how to create guide lines for creating mandalas.
Students will practice using a ruler to measure and draw straight edges.
Students will learn about symmetry.
Students will learn how to divide a square in half vertically, horizontally, and diagonally.
