In this class, students will learn how to create a colorful mandala that resembles a kaleidoscope.

Class Layout
First half of class
We will talk about circles and how when overlapped they create new shapes.
We will then talk about symmetry and how to divide a piece of paper symmetrically.
We will use the Mandala template.
We will color the mandala to look like a kaleidoscope.

Second half of class
We will trace the circle template several times overlapping them to create new shapes. (at least 11 circles)
We will color in each shape with a different color and create a unique piece of art.
Students will have creative freedom and create any background they would like.

Learning Goals:
Students will practice fine motor skills by tracing circles.
Students will practice following directions.
Students will be introduced to finding shapes and patterns in art.
Students will learn about symmetry.
Students will learn how to divide a square in half vertically, horizontally, and diagonally.
