In this class, students will use line and color to create an optical illusion inspired by artist Frank Stella.

Class Layout
We will start class talking about briefly about Frank Stella. https://www.guggenheim.org/artwork/artist/frank-stella
We will look at several of his shape, line, and color works.
We will then create our own line and color art using Frank Stella’s art as inspiration.

Benefits of art activity:

1. Students will get to observe several pieces of art by a famous artist.
2. Students learn a little about Frank Stella.
3. Students learn what Op Art (Optical Illusion) is.
4. Students will practice using a ruler for measuring and drawing straight lines.
