Clothespin cars are fun and easy. All you need is a large or small clothespin, four buttons, one chenille stem, scissors, and markers to decorate the car.

The paper board trees are super easy to make also. I drew the shape of a tree and a rectangular base on an old granola bar box.

Then I cut it out, colored it in, and put it together.

Remember these do not have to be perfect. It is about making something for and WITH your kids. Once you have made as many trees and cars as your kids want pull out the paper tape and create a neighborhood.
